Synopsis

The subject teaches on safety rules in welding. Identify various processes in welding, consumables, welding preparation , weld defects and inspection. The student also will learn practical in the application of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process in 1F, 2F, 1G and 2G position on carbon steel plate and pipe.

Learning Outcomes:

After completing the subject, students should be able to:
1.  Know and practice safety procedures and regulations in welding works.
2.  Identify various processes and procedures in arc welding.
3.  Perform SMAW process on carbon steel/pipe in flat and horizontal position.
4.  Check welding against drawing and perform mechanical test.
