Synopsis:

The course teaches on workshop practice in measuring, marking, cutting, fabricate, make pattern development of parallel line method and joint steel metal plates and pipes to make structures.

Learning Outcomes:

1.  Identify metals and materials for fabrication job.
2.  Interprets common fabrication drawing and procedures.
3.  Understand and perform oxy-acetylene and mechanical cutting process.
4.  Prepare pattern development of parallel line method.
5.  Perform fabrication works.

Welding Technology

Fundamental of Welding Technology

Synopsis

The subject teaches on safety rules in welding. Identify various processes in welding, consumables, welding preparation , weld defects and inspection. The student also will learn practical in the application of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process in 1F, 2F, 1G and 2G position on carbon steel plate and pipe.

Learning Outcomes:

After completing the subject, students should be able to:
1.  Know and practice safety procedures and regulations in welding works.
2.  Identify various processes and procedures in arc welding.
3.  Perform SMAW process on carbon steel/pipe in flat and horizontal position.
4.  Check welding against drawing and perform mechanical test.
